Kjaer Weis is a visionary and forward-thinking cosmetics brand created by Danish-born, New York based make-up artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis, that recognises health and beauty equally fulfilling the desire and demand for colour cosmetics made with the highest quality safe, natural and organic ingredients without compromising on luxury or contemporary design.  

KJAER WEIS fills the gap in the market for a product with clean formulations inside and design packaging on the outside. Branding, structural and packaging design are created by Marc Atlan. Red lacquered grain-textured boxes that look like little jewellery cases house the bold metal compacts which are refillable. “I wanted something unique, modern, forward thinking but also socially responsible.” Each compact comes with your chosen colour. Refill pans are available in customised, simple paper cartons, that are fully recyclable yet beautiful, so care has been taken to maintain sustainability principles as well as high design standards. “The visual and aesthetic parts of daily life are vitally important to me. Consciously or unconsciously, design affects us all.”

The Kjaer Weis Story

The founder and owner of Kjaer Weis is Danish-born Kirsten Kjaer Weis. Having worked for 20 years as a makeup artist, Kirsten was exposed to lots of models, actresses, and women sitting in the makeup chair. Kirsten saw the allergies, breakouts, and various skin problems that she believed were the result of using artificial, toxic chemical ingredients in makeup on the skin.

Kirsten knew that natural, organic makeup was a better alternative, but she couldn’t find any organic makeup brands with the performance or luxurious aesthetic that she knew her clients would demand. Kirsten refused to walk away from her truth about makeup and the cosmetic industry, and after years of research and hard work, Kjaer Weis was born.

The Kjaer Weis product line launched in 2010, celebrating a philosophy grounded in clean formulation, sustainability, and aesthetics. Kjaer Weis is certified by the CCPB, the Italian organic certifying authority, and each product consists of raw materials, natural preservatives, and pigments from the earth.

Designer Marc Atlan created unique packaging for Kjaer Weis makeup with a modern yet timeless look and feel. Each luxurious metal makeup compact is housed in a beautiful, red lacquered box. The compacts are chic and refillable, evoking a feeling of lavishness while honouring the collection’s emphasis on sustainability.
