Imported from USA
Yarok means ‘green’ in Hebrew and was founded by renowned Israeli hair stylist, Mordechai Alvow.
The YAROK Philosophy
Our focus is to make the greatest positive impact on hair and scalp health with the least negative impact on the natural environment. Whether it's our packaging, our product formulations, our day-to-day operations or our strategic partnerships we are dedicated to supporting environmental causes.
Each YAROK formula is a powerful blend of organic and all-natural botanicals that are consciously sourced and responsibly harvested. YAROK uses primarily "certified organic" ingredients. Very few hair care companies can say that every one of their products meet 100% of all vegan requirements. Even fewer can claim that their entire hair care line is free of alcohol, parabens, sulfates and cruelty to animals, and that they work beautifully, too. Yarok can say all of the above.
While we don't test on animals, we've had many willing New York City salon clients volunteer to test our all natural formulations before they went to market. This is how we got our start. Before long, there was such a demand for more products to transform a variety of hair and scalp issues and to overcome certain styling challenges. We spent several years developing and refining the complete line of Yarok hair care available today.
Yarok Has Nothing to Hide
Yarok is committed to transparency so we list all our ingredients on our labels. And we're dedicated to minimising our carbon footprint, so our labels are 80% FiberStone®, the most environmentally friendly non-paper material available that's waterproof. Made from limestone, which the earth has in abundance, the labels are ultra thin. They can wrinkle slightly from time to time, but what's a wrinkle when you're saving a tree?
Yarok Gives Back
While you can count on Yarok to constantly innovate when it comes to offering the latest and greatest in healthy, sustainable, vegan nutrition and style for the hair and scalp, we are also committed to helping sustain the beauty of the planet. Yarok donates 3% of its annual profits to The Pachamama Alliance, a non-profit that protects over 10 million acres of rainforests in the Amazon.
The Yarok Promise
YAROK is about relaxation and renewal in the broadest terms -- nourishing the scalp with vital nutrients while serenading the senses with uplifting, soothing or simply centering aroma from essential oils -- to promote wellness from the inside out.
Yarok. Food for Your Head. Good for the Earth

When he's not focused on product innovation, Mordechai travels the world as an editorial artist, brilliantly interpreting fashion and trends into uniquely fresh and wearable hairstyles. He has worked with scores of designers, advertisers, photographers and celebrities, his work gracing the pages of Allure, ELLE, InSTYLE, Marie Claire, New York Magazine and VOGUE.
Mordechai's celebrity clients include Melania Trump, Naomi Watts and Vanessa Minnillo, to name a few, and his international runway experience includes Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui, and Yohji Yamamoto. He brings this runway influence to his salon clients through his technical mastery of cut and colour.
Previously Mordechai owned the MOTY MOTY Salon at the swank Equinox Sports Club on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It was here where the idea for Yarok, which means "green" in Hebrew, was born and where he experimented with homespun, oil-based formulas to revitalise and replenish the hair and scalp of his health- and fitness-minded New York City clients.
Mordechai divides his time between New York City, Chicago, Miami and Israel and London.
